Realizing his strong passion for programming, he traveled from the island of Guam to the deserts of Nevada to study at the University of Nevada, Reno. Joriel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering. Since his arrival to Nevada, he has been in search of the tastiest burger around.

Joriel’s extensive development skills derive from creative passions for gaming. He’s created websites for events, including those for games he developed. No matter the challenge, Joriel ensures his audience has a unique experience by creating custom software and graphics for his events, including livestreams, games, and videos.

Joriel is known for creating Super Ledgehop: Double Laser, a quirky game he published on Steam with a group called “LAME Dimension”. His homemade games have been praised by multiple gaming websites, such as IGN, to being a wonderful, yet silly experience.

Joriel is also known as a power player in the competitive fighting game scene, receiving Top 8 placements in notable tournaments like AnimEVO, and appearing in high profile speed running events to demonstrate how to complete games within minutes. He’s held the world record for multiple video games, such as Pringles for the Sega Genesis, and often showcases his progress by livestreaming on Twitch and uploading videos to YouTube.

“Interviewers often ask me. “How do you keep staying strong, not just for a year or two, but for that long?” I always give them the same answer. “Don’t let yourself get bored.” That’s the key. Because this is the world of victory or defeat. If you don’t keep making efforts every day, you cannot keep winning.” – Daigo Umehara
